LAKE BLUFF

http://www.lakebluff.org/

A beautiful tree-lined community known for its welcoming neighbors and picturesque setting located on the wooded bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan, Lake Bluff is the most distant suburb on the North Shore as well as the one that attracts residents who desire the small town feel of this wonderfully quaint village. Originally a popular destination for Chicagoans looking to enjoy summer recreations on the lake, Lake Bluff has since transformed into a prized residential retreat for people who initially came for the summers and couldn’t bear to leave.

Residential

Given its historical characterization as a place to summer, many of the residences are converted bungalows and shore homes that have been
updated, expanded, and enhanced. Additionally, the gradual transformation of Lake Bluff has also resulted in the prominent construction of more traditionally styled estates, providing for a diverse offering of homes in the Lake Bluff real estate market.

The Schools

Lake Bluff elementary students are serviced by the Lake Bluff School District 65, which has recently been awarded the “Big Red Apple Award” for its academic performance, teacher/pupil ratio, operating expenditures per pupil, educational levels of teachers, and average teacher salary.
Included in this district are East and Central elementary schools and Lake Bluff Middle School. High school students attend neighboring Lake Forrest High School.

The Parks

The Spirit of Community

During the First World War, Lake Bluff was proclaimed the "most patriotic small town in America" for the efforts of the residents in supporting the Red Cross and purchasing an ambulance to send to France. This sense of community and values remains one of Lake Bluff's most esteemed characteristics.

Blair Park, Lake Bluff Golf Club, and Sunrise Park and Beach are popular destinations for Lake Bluff residents. Fitness centers, pools, recreational facilities, and, of course, the beach are all available to residents looking to enjoy the beautiful surroundings of their scenic community.
