LINCOLNSHIRE

Considered one of the fastest growing townships in the country as well as one of the most desirable residential and commercial environments in the Chicago area, Lincolnshire is a diverse community that enjoys a strong economic base, excellent school systems, and a convenient proximity to Chicago and its many arteries.

Residential

Characterized by its winding roads, luxurious homes, and beautiful scenery, Lincolnshire’s real estate market offers wonderfully diverse properties that include distinguished single family homes, town homes, and condominiums. “Residential areas are surrounded by forest preserves, parks, and open spaces which are all protected from
commercial areas.”

Commercial

To say Lincolnshire’s economic base is strong is an understatement. It is home to the Lincolnshire Corporate Center, Quill Corporation, Hewitt
Associates, Marriott’s Lincolnshire Resort, Zenith, the Lincolnshire Business Center, Millbrook Office Park, and the Tri-State Office Park. Together, which together encompass several million square feet of office and industrial space.

The Schools

Common Misnomer

Though many attribute Lincolnshire’s original name, “Half Day”, to the fact that Lincolnshire was a half day’s trip from Chicago. In reality, the town was named after “Hafda”, a friendly Potawatomie chief. A cartographer mistakenly spelt it “Half Day”.

Elementary students attend the Lincolnshire-Prairie View School in District #103, which includes schools that have all won the “Excellence in Education Award”. These schools are: Sprague Elementary School, Half Day School, and Daniel Wright Middle School. High School students attend the nationally recognized Stevenson High School in District 125, the only school in Illinois to receive four Blue Ribbon Awards by the U.S. Department of Education and Newsweek and U.S. News and World Report have consistently ranked Stevenson among the top 100 high schools in America.
